This dry red wine has been produced from the highest quality selected Saperavi grapes harvested in Khashmi vineyards of the Kakheti region, Georgia. According to historical sources, the cultivation of the vineyard in the Khashmi area is associated with the name of Queen Tamar, who ordered Davit Garejeli monks to cultivate the vineyard in Khashmi region.
Saperavi Khashmi has been added to the list of protected Georgian appellation wines.
This Saperavi dry red wine is a dark purple color with deep and multilayered aromas of raspberries, dark fruits, pepper, black currant, and has a nutty forest sent. The palate of this Georgian wine is bold, with silky tannins, good acidity, and a long pleasant finish of raspberries, pepper, and tobacco flavors.
The Saperavi grape is sure to please the American wine drinker, pairing well with hearty dishes like roasted meats, wild game, spicy stews, and hard/aged cheeses.
